Hello, I am Alexander Vermeulen. I am a 2D artist, specialising in character art of varying styles. Here you will find both the project for my MA in Creative Technologies as well as my personal work.

Following the pandemic and increased awareness and discussion of race, diversity and identity, I conducted research into the large gap between the identities of those who play tabletop games and those who are represented, with animals being represented much more than women.
​
To combat this lack of representation in tabletop gaming, I have focused on creating a character creation product capable of being used to make characters for tabletop gaming in the fantasy genre, as well as for writing or other creative uses. The product makes use of transparent plastic cards - transparent cards being well underused within tabletop gaming and mostly for fancy business cards. By combining the uses of creative technology such as Clip Studio Paint and tabletop gaming programs such as Tabletop Simulator, I have been able to test my project virtually so far.
